The latest edition of WEF's report focuses on "arriving at a better understanding of new technologies, including automation and algorithms, to create new high-quality jobs and vastly improve the job quality and productivity of the existing work of human employees".

Some companies could choose to use temporary workers, freelancers and specialist contractors, while others may automate numerous tasks.

In a study of executives and specialists across 12 industries, published Monday, the WEF concluded that this so-called "fourth Industrial Revolution" could create 133 million jobs globally, while 75 million workers may be displaced. So that doesn't mean companies expect to have fewer jobs.

New skill sets for employees will be needed as labour between machines and humans continue to evolve, the report pointed out.

The surveyed companies report that at present, 71 per cent of total current task hours are performed by humans, compared to 29 per cent by machines.

This seemed to continue to infuriate Williams and on the next changeover she told the chair umpire Ramos he needed to apologize. Osaka's mother didn't talk to her family for years because they were angered by her relationship with a black man.

Respondents predicted a decline of 984,000 jobs and a gain of 1.74 million jobs between now and 2022. "At the same time a greater number of new jobs will be created", said Saadia Zahidi, a WEF board member.

"A lot of these new jobs will be centred around understanding and managing the technology, as the limitations of machine learning means it needs human wisdom to guide it". During this implementation period, the person involved develops valuable new skills in AI which can be translated over to other areas where businesses want to use AI and can be used to manage a "team" of AI bots.

George Charles, spokesman for money-saving website www.VoucherCodesPro.co.uk, commented: "There's always been the fear with technology, specifically robots, that jobs will be taken over and people will be left without work".

However, many roles will become "increasingly redundant" including repetitive and manual roles in administrative, factory and financial work, the WEF says. It warned there's a significant gap between the skills workers now have and those that may be required for future new roles.
