BTS will be the first K-pop act to hold a solo concert at the venue.

According to media reports on Thursday, the K-pop act is scheduled to attend a ceremony for Generation Unlimited, a new global partnership by the United Nations Children's Fund at noon Monday at the UN headquarters in NY, a day before the general assembly kicks off. The campaign, which was launched in October 2017, aims to empower youth around the world and also advocates for children's rights.

BTS has been promoting the advocacy to end violence against the youth for the past two years.

The global sensation has taken 5% of their sales made from their Love Yourself series and donated it towards the #LoveMyself campaign.

The Korean boy group has been very vocal about several social issues. The messages in their songs alone, inform and encourage young people to stay true to who they are, think critically about society, and most importantly, to love themselves no matter what.

Generation Unlimited will become part of the UN Secretary-General's Youth 2030 Strategy and will focus on three key areas: secondary-age education; skills for learning, employability and decent work; and empowerment.

Meanwhile, BTS, who kicked off their world tour with a concert in Los Angeles on September 5, will stage a concert at Citi Field in NY on October 6.

This is the first time a K-pop group has been invited to the "General Assembly of the United Nations".

BTS is now touring North America for their Love Yourself world concert tour to promote their latest album Love Yourself: Answer.
