Judge puts limit on accusers at Cosby sentencing

  • CONSTAND

As previously reported, Cosby was found guilty on three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault for drugging and molesting Constand, 45, at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

Cosby's defense team is expected to appeal the guilty verdict and the judge could allow Cosby to remain on house arrest until the appeal is resolved.

If the sentencing exceeds two years then Cosby will have to go to state prison, Valentino said the women would feel validated and vindicated to see him walk out of the courtroom in handcuffs.

A Pennsylvania judge on Thursday denied a request by prosecutors to allow additional women who have accused comedian Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct to tell their stories at his sentencing hearing on a sexual assault conviction.

Lasha said she prays he gets a 30-year-sentence. If that happens, he will be obliged to register as a sex offender for life, instead of for a shorter timeframe decided by a judge.

More than 50 women have come forward to publicly accuse Cosby of sexual assault spanning several decades.

Cosby and his legal team have shown that they want to mitigate the amount of damage being done to his reputation, starting with the classification of him as a "sexually violent predator".

Ford is not on trial, rather Judge Kavanaugh is seeking a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court", said Sen. On Friday, Grassley turned down Ford's request that only senators, not attorneys, be allowed to ask questions.

Prosecutors said they would "present numerous witnesses who will testify that defendant sexually abused them" and argued those "uncharged crimes" were relevant to establishing Cosby's character and as a danger to the community.

At Cosby's trial, five women besides Constand testified that he had assaulted them.

Cosby is legally blind and uses a cane, something his lawyers are certain to point out along with his achievements and philanthropy.

The Associated Press does not typically identify people who say they are victims of sexual assault unless they grant permission, which Lublin and Lasha have done.

Cosby is due in court for a two-day sentencing hearing beginning on Monday, where Judge Steven O'Neill will decide his fate at the Montgomery county courthouse in Norristown, Pennsylvania.

Bill Cosby could be headed to jail as soon as Monday morning, depending on how his sentencing goes.
