New features are consistently added to the app thanks to updates from Google. That's why, going forward, Google Maps will display electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, which should come in handy when planning longer trips that extend well beyond your EV's autonomy.

Google Maps will list the whereabouts of charging stations supplied by Tesla and Chargepoint all across the world.

Google explained the new feature can be harnessed by entering relevant keywords into the Maps search bar. If a business has charging stations, Maps will also feature a link to information about that station on that business' listing.

Google has partnered up with Tesla and Chargepoint for global information, while locally here in Australia they've partnered with Chargefox to populate the data. Businesses that have charging stations on their premises will have a section in their listing detailing the chargers, and visitors will be able to rate and review the charging stations like they can any other location on Maps.

Drivers in the USA will get access to details about SemaConnect, EVgo and Blink stations while Australia and New Zealand EV drivers will see information on Chargefox stations.

Globally, Tesla and Chargepoint stations will be displayed while users in the United States can also see the locations of SemaConnect, EVgo and Blink points.

The latest addition to Google Maps list of features benefits those who have opted to lessen their carbon footprint.

That assistance comes in the form of Google Maps which, beginning today, will show EV charging stations within the app.

If your Google Maps application has not received the new update, users can download it manually by heading to either the Google Play Store of iOS App Store.
