Kleenex maker Kimberly-Clark is in the process of rebranding their "Mansize" tissues after buyers complained that the tissues were sexist.

Its website describes Kleenex Mansize as "soft and strong so you can be confident it won't let you down".

In a tweet, Kleenex said: "We recently made changes to our Mansize branding and will now be labeled as Extra Large keep an eye out in shops".

In a statement given to The Telegraph, a spokesman for Kleenex's parent company, Kimberly-Clark, has said that the firm was aiming to provide "a consistent increase of complaints on gender concern".

It says the boxes will now be labelled as "Extra Large" instead.

Kleenex "For Men" tissues were first launched back in 1956 when cotton handkerchiefs were still widely used, with the claim that they "stayed strong when wet".

The company came under fire on Twitter, with one mother revealing she was asked by her four-year-old son whether or not boys and girls could use the mansize tissues.
