The annual Friends of the Library book sale begins

The Friends of the Fort Smith Public Library will hold its children's and young adult used book sale October 26-29 at the Main Branch of the Fort Smith Public Library, 3201 Rogers Ave.

The sale begins at 10:00 a.m. each day; it continues until 8:00 p.m. tonight, until 5:00 p.m. on Friday and until 12 noon on Saturday.

A bargain book sale will offer deals and entertainment for all ages through this weekend.

More than 100,000 books are up for sale.

The Old Book Sale is located at Riverstreet Corners Shopping Center off Riverside Drive. There is a large collection of music and audio CDs and DVDs.

The regular book sale will continue from 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Friends have raised and donated more than $60,000 to the library since 2002, supporting many programs, as well as the purchase of materials and books. Joining the group is a way to make new friends, make the library even better and give back to the community.
