Facebook will give you 10 minutes to unsend that embarrassing message

08 November, 2018, 14:14 | Author: Sammy Rose

'If you accidentally send the wrong photo, incorrect information or message the wrong thread, you can easily correct it by removing the message within ten minutes of sending it'.

As is the case with WhatsApp, time limits will be involved, meaning you won't be able to remove any of the things you said in past chats.

You can finally take back your ill-conceived messages on Facebook.

When the 191.0 version of Messenger is released, another option will appear for 10 minutes above "Delete Message" when editing messages in a conversation: "Unsend Message".

Now Facebook is planning to save Messenger users from some of this pain.

Cigar-shaped comet may actually be an alien probe, Harvard scientists suggest
He said: "If it were a spacecraft, this tumbling would make it impossible to keep any instruments pointed at the Earth". In December 2017 it was announced the astronomers were going to scan Oumuamua for signs of alien life.

The idea has been lobbied by Facebook since April after it was revealed the company had retracted messages sent by CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other company chief, TechRadar reported.

Facebook have given no indication when this update will be rolled out, with the release notes simply saying: "Coming soon".

Other messaging services, including Facebook's own WhatsApp, have the same option, though it gives users an hour to delete any embarrassing/drunken/threatening communications. Gmail allows users the time intervals of 5, 10, 20, and 30 seconds to take back that drunk email you never should have sent in the first place.

Bottom line: Great news for people who take their phones with them on nights out: Facebook Messenger's long-talked-about unsend feature is nearly here.
