The man accused of sending pipe bombs to prominent critics of President Donald Trump is expected to make his first court appearance Tuesday in NY, where prosecutors said they will ask for him to be held without bail because he is considered unsafe.

Cesar Altieri Sayoc, accused of mailing 14 pipe bombs to prominent critics of US President Donald Trump, appears handcuffed in federal court to answer charges against him in an artist's sketch in Miami, Florida, October 29, 2018. Sayoc, who lived in a white van adorned with right-wing political images supporting Trump and denouncing Trump's critics, was apprehended after an intense manhunt.

Dressed in a navy blue prison overalls with his grey hair pulled back and knotted at the back of his head, Sayoc appeared respectful and alert in court.

The 56-year-old will appear in federal court in downtown Manhattan at noon ET, according to a letter from federal prosecutors to Judge Robert Lehrburger.

Prosecutors said Sayoc "used mailing materials almost identical to the other 15 packages, including the same type of envelope, address format and stamps" on this package.

Prosecutors told a judge that Sayoc presents a flight risk and is a serious danger to the public.

Virgin Australia's salute and priority boarding for veterans criticised
Mackay Veterans Support Group secretary Adam West said it appeared the announcement was a token merely "driven by politics". The Australian War Memorial in Canberra will get a $500 million facelift.

A preliminary hearing in the case was set for November 12.

Voting for the elections began on Tuesday.

None of the bombs exploded and no one was injured.

"I beg President Trump and others to refrain from talk of War with fellow Americans and remember, as Senator McCain taught us, that we may politically disagree but we are all patriotic Americans and all we want is a safe country for all Americans", she continued, referring to the late John McCain, who called for civility from supporters during his 2008 presidential campaign against Barack Obama.

Sayoc, from Aventura, Florida, faces almost 50 years in prison if convicted on five federal charges.

Prosecutors have said Sayoc is likely to face additional charges and penalties from their ongoing investigation.

Sayoc's mother, Madeline Sayoc, sent a letter to ABC News that was published Sunday, stating he has struggled with mental health for much of his life.
