Jamal Khashoggi's accused killers will face death penalty: Saudi prosecutor

Saudi prosecutors have requested the death penalty for five of the accused, whom they say ordered and supervised Khashoggi's murder at the consulate, Al-Arabiya reported.
He added that Saud al-Qahtani, a former advisor to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is also under investigation and barred from traveling overseas.
At a press conference held in capital Riyadh, Saud al-Mujeb said that Khashoggi died due to high dose of drugs given by his murderers, his body was dismembered after and transferred outside the consulate compound.
Al-Mojeb told reporters in Riyadh that the highest-level official implicated in Khashoggi's killing is former deputy intelligence chief Ahmad al-Assiri, who gave the order for him to be repatriated from Turkey.
The announcement by the kingdom's top prosecutor, Saud al-Mojeb, appears aimed at distancing the killers and their operation from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whose decision-making powers have been the focus of global outcry over the killing.
He added that Jamal Khashoggi's body was dismembered and then transferred outside the Saudi consulate building.
