The New York Times yesterday said that "after Tim Cook, Apple's chief executive, quipped in an interview that his company did not traffic in personal data, Mr Zuckerberg ordered his management team to use only Android phones". But this is not the actual reason for this order, as the reason is the tech giant Apple's CEO, of course, Tim Cook criticized the social network giant Facebook in an interview with MSNBC for being a service that deals with "personal life".

The world's most popular social media platform has been on the back foot for months, including over the allegation that data from millions of Facebook users was abused by the consultancy Cambridge Analytica to help drive Donald Trump to the White House.

According to The New York Times, Zuckerberg later ordered management to use Android phones, reasoning that more Facebook users use Android phones than iPhones (i.e. they could better understand the experiences of their users).

In on broadcast interview, Cook was asked what his advice would be on the situation and responded "I wouldn't be in that situation".

The Times reported on Wednesday about Facebook's response to Russian-led misinformation efforts ahead of the 2016 election. Privacy to us is a human right.

The report highlights how Facebook knew of Russian influence much before it admitted to this publicly and how the company tried to deflect and deny scandal after scandal. But the incident highlights just how personally Facebook's founder took the criticism from Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Facebook is having some rough times when it comes to privacy. "A frustration I have is that a lot of people increasingly seem to equate an advertising business model with somehow being out of alignment with your customers", Zuckerberg says.

So, are Facebook execs really using Android instead of iPhones? "So there's been no need to employ anyone else to do this for us", Facebook said. If it's true, that means no more iPhones allowed at work.
