  • Company Rethinks Firing of Manager

Moreover, Ali, who has a history of criminal theft charges and at least one indictment, has previously bragged on Twitter about repeatedly stealing food from the Chipotle location.

On Friday, Chipotle dismissed Moran, saying that the proper procedure would have been to prepare the food for the men and withhold it if they refused to pay. While Chipotle says its protocol was not followed serving these customers, the company publicly apologized to the manager "for being put in this position".

The company also said the manager has since been terminated and that the staff has undergone training to prevent a similar situation from occurring.

The video, which was posted to Twitter on Friday morning, features a group of young black men who are told they can not order until they prove they have money to pay.

"We will work to continue to ensure that we support a respectful workplace for our employees and our customers alike", Chipotle said.

"We're not going to make food unless you guys actually have money", a server said in the video.

In response to being constantly tagged by outraged Twitterati, Chipotle's social media arm reached out to Mr Ali on Saturday.

US man who killed pregnant wife and daughters jailed for life
Police have said Watts killed his wife and daughters, 4-year-old Bella and 3-year-old Celeste, inside their suburban Denver home. His in-laws, on the other hand, had much to say to him before he was escorted away to spend the rest of his life in prison.

Chipotle was quick to terminate the manager.

The two-minute clip starts with the manager telling the feared wannabe carbo-loaders mid-sentence: "You gotta pay because you never have money when you come in here bro".

"Can a group of young well established African American get a bite to eat after a long workout session?" asked Twitter user Masud Ali, who posted the clip of him and his friends at a St. Paul, Minnesota branch of the United States burrito chain on Friday.

Ali had tweeted about dining and dashing multiple times in the past.

A second clip in the post's thread then shows the men refusing to leave the establishment until they got served while the manager proceeds to call the police. "She asked for proof of income as if I'm getting a loan", he said. Ali didn't respond to requests for comment from local media outlets.

Schalow said the company was aware of Ali's previous tweets before it fired the manager, but claimed "additional information" has prompted the company to investigate further and consider rehiring the manager.

"We did discover [Ali's] previous twitter posts from a few years back as part of our investigation", acknowledged Schalow.
