The former ANTM contestant previously announced her stage 4 breast cancer diagnosis on Facebook in October 2018. Strauss had reportedly made a decision to stop her chemotherapy treatments near the end of October and was moved to hospice mid-November.

TMZ reports sources close to the model confirm she passed on Tuesday around 11 a.m.

Following the news of her death, Jael's family said in a statement: 'The one blessing was that we were able to show her how loved she was before she passed. "Jael, being the selfless person that she is, has helped countless people throughout her life as an advocate for recovery and social justice", the page reads.

After moving into a hospice she took to Facebook to tell fans about her devastating diagnosis.

'I have an inner conflict, because I know that my story has helped so many people.

Jael Strauss lost her battle with breast cancer. "Due to the overwhelming sickness associated with the chemo, she has made the decision to stop chemotherapy at this time". With treatment it may prolong my life longer than the "few months" doctors said I could make it.
