  • The eye of the tiger is gone – Dyche insists Burnley's mentality must change

Crystal Palace ended its eight-match winless streak with a 2-0 victory at Selhurst Park as Burnley's unconvincing English Premier League campaign took another turn for the worse on Saturday.

Palace finally recorded a home win and goal from open play as they saw off a poor Burnley side 2-0 at Selhurst Park to move clear of the bottom three.

Roy Hodgson's side are now on 12 points, three clear of the relegation zone, and the Eagles will be confident heading into three winnable fixtures before they face Manchester City on December 22.

Palace dominated the early proceedings and were on the front foot as Burnley struggled to settle into the game.

And Meyer nearly made it two after 35 minutes - his curled left-footed effort beat Hart but went millimetres wide of the post.

Wilfried Zaha and Luka Milivojevic squandered gilt-edged chances to extend Palace's lead after the interval, while Charlie Taylor's wonderful block denied McArthur a second.

The "Eagles" have claimed just two points at home so far this season, scoring just two goals in the process, both of which were penalties.

Burnley's defensive resilience was crucial to their success last term, but Dyche's side have now conceded 29 goals, with only Fulham having let in more. His left-footed effort narrowly missed Hart's far post.

Burnley looked to have got themselves back on track after a sticky start with back-to-back wins over Bournemouth and Cardiff but they have lost four of their last five games, with Monday's setback against Newcastle the latest disappointment.

Zaha then twisted and turned in the Burnley area before unleashing a shot, padded away by Hart.

But the points were sealed by Andros Townsend's second goal of the season, leaving Joe Hart with no chance as he fired an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

"We have had chances at home, and created more chances than we have away".
