  • Amazon is reportedly developing its own game-streaming platform

Amazon has serious ambitious to do more around video games, with a plan to expand in a big way its existing identity as a retailer of titles as well as the owner of Twitch, the most prominent game livestreaming service in the world.

But Amazon is apparently already in talks with publishers in a bid to work out what games they could distribute through the streaming service. This service, as with PS Now, will reportedly allow customers to stream video games over the Internet, making it possible to access titles without paying for them individually.

And game streaming in general looks to be something that'll start taking off either this year or next, as Microsoft has its badly named Project XCloud, aimed at streaming Xbox One games to all manner of devices. This Netflix-like streaming arrangement offered by PS Now has its own benefits, such as the ability to play a game without waiting for huge downloads to finish and access on any supported hardware.

New software can track down users who share Netflix accounts illegally
Streaming services such as Netflix are able to pay for access to Synamedia's initiative that will grant them the data in question. A new technology has been released today that may turn into a wake up call for many of us who use services like Netflix .

Should the service pan out, however, Amazon would nearly certainly include it on Amazon Fire TV Edition screens and Amazon Fire TV devices, plus tablets and smartphones.

Amazon hasn't announced any such plans so far or even confirmed the existence of such plans.

A third listing is looking for a "Lead Cross Platform Game Engineer", described as a "rare opportunity.to shape the foundation of an unannounced AAA games business".
