  • Samsung finally confirms the launch date of Galaxy S10

Samsung Electronics will unveil its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S10, in the United States next month.

Generally speaking, there aren't many new announcements when it comes to smartphones at the CES annual convention, but Samsung managed to pull a PR stunt by announcing the date while stealing the show in the process.

The Korean giants are introducing the Galaxy M10, M20 and M30 to directly compete with brands like Xiaomi, Honor, Oppo, Vivo and other similar Chinese brands.

It is expected, therefore, that more details on all of Samsung's upcoming devices will be drip fed up until then. Moreover, it was expected that the Galaxy S10 and S10 Lite both would have a launch sometime this year.

So that's something to look forward to, though the amount of information available isn't clear. Further, it is not possible for Samsung to do a live 5G demo in Las Vegas as 5G coverage will be live in Las Vegas later this year. Alongside these, it appears the cheaper Galaxy S10 E will also be sold in Yellow. "Galaxy Unpacked on February 20, 2019".

According to TechRadar, Samsung will host its Galaxy S10 launch event on 20 February 2019. The phone was officially unveiled in early November, at Samsung's 2018 developer convention.

Notably, the Galaxy S10 marks the tenth anniversary of Samsung Galaxy S series phones.

The first two variants (as listed above) will reportedly have displays with curved edges while the third variant (Galaxy S10 Lite) will launch with flat edges.

At least one variant of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's newest Snapdragon 855 system-on-chip.

The standard Galaxy S10 could launch with dual camera set-up on the rear and a single front-facing shooter.

The biggest feature of the S10 is its all-screen display that only leaves a tiny hole on the top right for the camera.
