  • Sen. Kamala Harris D-California in Hart Senate Office Building

Harris ― who was promoting her new book The Truths We Hold: An American Journey ― refused to be speculate on reports that she will announce her candidacy on Martin Luther King Day.

The former California attorney general also expressed regret that she was not informed by her staff that her former top aide in that previous office was accused of gender harassment, a lawsuit that the attorney general'soffice settled for almost $400,000 after she had moved on to the US Senate. Harris also confirmed she will decide soon whether to mount a 2020 presidential bid.

Why Oakland, when she started her career across the bay?

"San Francisco is viewed as a very nutty place by people outside of California, and frankly, by a lot of people inside California", Democratic strategist Darry Sragow, who teaches political science at the University of Southern California, told CBS News.

The government has shut down because of the US Congress' refusal to grant funds to the Trump administration for the president's pet border wall project.

In October, Harris visited Iowa, South Carolina and Wisconsin, but it was to campaign for Democratic candidates ahead of the midterm elections.

The company assures users that a bend within 400 microns will not affect iPad Pro's strength of the enclosure or its performance. Apple has faced problems before with the iPhone 6 and iPod nano bending, as well as "antennagate" with the iPhone 4.

Wallace worked closely with Harris for many years, and she praised his efforts to help root out racial bias in the attorney general's office in her recent memoir. According to Forbes, Harris laughed during a 2014 interview when a journalist raised a question about legalization. Their expectation, if she runs, is that the senator would simply launch the formal campaign, which would be led by key staffers from her 2016 Senate run. Harris said she "begged" and "pleaded" on a late Friday afternoon for a judge to hear the case so the woman could avoid spending the weekend in jail.

To the delight of the audience, a smiling Harris responded, "I might".

But a campaign also could hurt her standing.

Harris is one of several high-profile Democrats who are considering running for president in 2020.

"Apparently you said you were going to make a decision after the holidays as to whether you were going to run for president", Goldberg said.

Though California is Harris' home state, her team wants to locate its headquarters on the East Coast, near the major cable news outlets and within quicker flying distance to some of the early Midwestern and East Coast primaries and caucuses, such as Iowa, New Hampshire and SC. And I think it's good for the party. And those are the issues I think about.
