CBP officers assigned to the Office of Field Operations (OFO) at the Pharr International Bridge came upon a tractor-trailer hauling a commercial shipment of fresh produce consisting of fresh bell peppers crossing into the US from Mexico.

Mayor Arturo Garino, the mayor of Nogales, Arizona, told the Arizona Daily Star that the shooting occurred after the driver refused to stop and tried to run over the CBP officer.

On Wednesday, Nogales City Council passed a resolution that would sue the federal government if the barbed wire was not removed.

The small border town of Nogales, Arizona has issues with President Donald Trump's move to secure the border by installing contra wire along the wall.

The group believes that it can be used to treat more than diabetes to include inflammatory bowel disease and rheumatoid arthritis. The spring and the other parts of the capsule are eliminated though the digestive system without causing problems.

The most interesting aspect: Garino believes the contra wire is a threat to people (which is kind of the point of having it put up).

CBP said an uninjured passenger was released by Mexican authorities and the officer who shot the driver wasn't injured.

The vote comes after USA military troops installed additional layers of wire along the fence over the weekend, and the day after President Donald Trump highlighted border security in his State of the Union address.

Officials reported the total value of the contraband to be an estimated $14,152.000, according to a media release issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Department of Homeland Security.

Nogales, a city of about 20,000 people, is economically reliant on Mexican shoppers and cross-border trade.
