In the video, the handcuffed man, suspected of stealing mobile phones, screams in fear as his interrogator laughs and a voice can be heard threatening to put the snake into the suspect's mouth and pants.
The man is seen with his hands tied behind his back and yelling as the snake is pushed toward his face by an officer.
Indonesian police have admitted their officers terrorised a man with a snake after a video of the incident circulated online.
A policeman could be heard asking the suspect, "How many times have you stolen a cellphone?".
"Only two times", the suspect responds.
The reptile is also seen wrapped around the detained man's neck, as officers try to extract a confession about stolen phones.
The local police chief said it was unprofessional but defended the practice, saying the snake was tame and non-venomous.

"An officer is now being questioned by Papua police internal affairs division", Papua police spokesman Ahmad Mustofa Kamal told AFP today.
"The snake was tame and not poisonous or unsafe and the incident was their own idea so they could get admission of guilt as quick as possible", Swadaya said in a statement, adding that stern action had been taken against the officer. "We will work more professionally in the future".
Indonesian security forces have been repeatedly accused of committing human rights abuses against Papua's ethnic Melanesian population including extrajudicial killings of activists and peaceful protesters.
Koman said the use of a snake is just one of the ways police and military personnel terrorize Papuan detainees as part of a racist campaign against indigenous citizens, the AP explained.
Ms Koman claimed that Sam Lokon, a member of the National Committee for West Papua activist group, faced a similar snake session after being arrested last month.
Western New Guinea was incorporated into Indonesia in the '60s. Such efforts have intensified after rebel militants killed 19 people working on the construction of a trans-Papua highway project in December 2018.
