Almost two weeks since he reported being the victim of a racist and homophobic attack in Streeterville, "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett turned over "limited and redacted" phone records to Chicago Police.

Police say they took the bottle for analysis.

Guglielmi told the Post that after police seized the bottle it was turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation for analysis; the Federal Bureau of Investigation declined to comment.

Smollett initially was "reluctant" to call police because of the attention he would generate as a public figure, Guglielmi previously said.

This totally contradicts the one neighbor who says that she saw a suspicious individual around the building where she and Smollett reside about 90 minutes before the alleged attack. Here's the run-down. During a late-night trip to Subway, the actor and singer was attacked by two men wearing all black as he left the restaurant. But, after officials pulled several surveillance videos of the area - none of which captured the incident - many grew skeptical about Smollett's case.

Still, Guglielmi said the records Smollett provided are indicative of his willingness to cooperate and the department will be following up with Smollett's team for additional data. "However, the records provided do not meet the burden for a criminal investigation, as they were limited and heavily redacted", police told WBBM in an email.

Near the foot of a stairwell to the Loews, The Post found an empty hot-sauce bottle that was partially filled with a clear liquid that smelled like bleach.

Police are seeking two men who beat up the actor on January 29th, tied a noose around his neck and poured a bleach-like substance all over him.

According to a police report, responding officers found the 36-year-old with a white rope hanging from his neck.

"I don't believe it happened the way he said it did", Agin Muhammad, who lives in the same apartment complex as the actor, told the Post.

"I've been in this neighborhood five years". "They have cameras everywhere".

"We are continuing to work closely with the Chicago PD and remain confident that they will find Jussie's attackers and bring them to justice".

According to police, a PDF is subject to manipulation, but they are not saying they have any evidence that Smollett manipulated his phone records - detectives have now asked Smollett to submit his actual phone bill or a download of his entire phone.
