  • Apple announces March 25 event

The company has placed an event invitation on its website with the tagline "It's showtime", leading many to speculate that it refers to the company's upcoming TV streamer, for which the company has ordered titles from the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Steven Spielberg.

Apple will also reportedly launch a new 9.7-inch iPad that will keep a similarly low price as the current 9.7-inch model, as well an updated version of its AirPods headphones, which are overdue for an update that includes better sound, wireless charging and some additional health tracking features.

According to the report, Apple will launch its new video streaming service with little first-party content ready.

Apple acquired the digital magazine app Texture previous year, which enables you to read a huge number of publications for a single monthly fee, a bit like a music streaming service.

Google Hardware makes cuts to laptop and tablet development, cancels products
Google is the disputed king when it comes to software and associated technologies, but the same can not be said for hardware. Rumors of a Pixelbook 2 have been swirling since the company's hardware event last October though it has yet to be released.

Apple's spring event will happen on March 25 at the Steve Jobs theater on the company's Cupertino campus.

The company was rumoured to be holding an event on March 25 before, and it's now sending out official invites to the press this evening. Sources familiar with the matter earlier told Reuters that the service may resell subscriptions from CBS Corp., Viacom Inc. and Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.'s Starz among others, as well as Apple's own original content.

We'll know exactly what Apple is going to announce once it actually announces it all, so we'll be glued to the live stream on March 25th.
