Scientists: Apple AirPods and Wireless Headphones May Cause Cancer, Brain Damage

More than 250 scientists have signed a petition urging the United Nations and World Health Organization to develop stronger guidelines regarding the potential cancer risk and other health effects caused by non-ionizing electromagnetic fields, or EMFs.
As many as 250 worldwide scientists have signed a United Nations and World Health Organisation petition raising serious concerns against the use of numerous wireless devices and call for protection.
Apple sold 28 million pairs of their wireless earbuds last year, and 16 million the year before; with a new design said to be on the way this company is set to profit even more, but the real cost is not known.
Jerry Phillips, a professor of biochemistry at the University of Colorado, told Medium: "My concern for AirPods is that their placement in the ear canal exposes tissues in the head to relatively high levels of radio-frequency radiation".
Now, scientists calling for more oversight and warnings for all manner of radiowave-based technologies are particularly concerned over the intensity and proximity of Bluetooth radiation to the human ear canal and brain.
The petition reads: "Based upon peer-reviewed, published research, we have serious concerns regarding the ubiquitous and increasing exposure to EMF generated by electric and wireless devices". "The concern here is probably more neurological diseases and disorders as opposed to cancer", added Moskowitz.
The most obvious and well-established risk of radiowaves is that, at high levels, they can generate heat and cause burns.
8 dead in Brazil school shooting
The dead included six students and two teachers, and several other people were hospitalized with injuries, according to Gov. In 2011, 12 students were killed by a gunman who roamed the halls of a school in Rio de Janeiro , shooting at them.
Pelosi says Trump 'just not worth' impeaching
She could say instead that many of Trump's actions are indeed impeachable, but that actual process isn't feasible right now. Billionaire Tom Steyer, who's been running TV ads calling for Trump to be impeached , blasted Pelosi for her comments.
Airpods and similar devices comply with the legal limits for EMF radio waves but the scientists who signed the petition worry that the guidelines are too lax.
This means that radiowaves are less risky than higher energy radiation like X-rays or UV, but more extremely low-frequency radiation.
But overall, the scientific community is yet to rule conclusively on the impact of large amounts of relatively low-level EMF exposure.
"There are many thousands of papers of varying quality and relevance to health that point in all sorts of directions", Kenneth Foster, a professor of bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, insisted, adding that there is no objective evidence of harm that EMF may inflict.
Advent of new wireless technologies are outpacing research and regulation, and its effects could have unsafe even disastrous health effects, such as the untested 5G posed to roll out using broader and far stronger signals than ever before.
"By not taking action, the WHO is failing to fulfil its role as the preeminent global public health agency". In addition, Wi-Fi has been said to present cancer risks.
Mozilla's offering is hardly innovative, but it's easy to use and feels less cumbersome than other services. Mozilla has publicly launched its Firefox Send file-sharing service after a lengthy testing period.
The report comes as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has emphasised the importance of personal messaging apps. Facebook recalled that it announced that some user's accounts had been compromised on October 31st, 2018.
The findings were reported in Ophthalmology Retina , a publication of the American Academy of Ophthalmology . He also claimed that the learning model could drastically slow down the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
But it resurfaced online when a Facebook post was directed at bored teens, asking them to be a part of this #Trashtag Challenge . Within a few days, the trend has caught on and people all over the world are enthusiastically participating in this clean-up.
Sanders on Monday unfavorably compared Democrats' response to that of Republicans following comments made by Rep. During the now-infamous moment, Acosta refused to pass the microphone to a female White House aide.
With a record of 13-55, the Knicks are far and away the worst team in the league and are now on a seven-game losing streak. No, you can't do that in Madison Square Garden. "You are not allowed to stalk the owner and then confront him like that".
Collins was a starter all four years he played in NY and was named an All-Pro after his breakout sophomore season in 2016. Free agents can not officially sign with their new teams until the start of the new league year at 4:00 PM EDT Wednesday.
In addition to the wider support for PIP mode, Chrome 73 will also let developers add hardware media key support to web apps. Chrome 73.0.3683.75 is now available for download for Windows , Mac, Linux, and Android.
British lawmakers, who on January 15 voted 432-202 against her deal, were on Tuesday studying the assurances with lawyers. Or, she added, Britain could leave without a deal to soften the shock, a nightmare scenario for many companies.
Google teases new gaming platform
There's also a curious little noise at the end that could be the noise Google's console makes when it's turned on. It all kicks off on March 19th at 10:00 AM Pacific / 1:00 PM Eastern, and we'll cover the news here at Gamnesia.
Trump Grounds All U.S. Boeing 737 Max Planes
The Federal Aviation Administration has also backed the jet's airworthiness and said it is reviewing all available data. A almost brand-new Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed shortly after takeoff in Ethiopia Sunday, killing all 157 people on board.
