Police have arrested four people following attacks that took place in two Muslim places of worship in Christchurch on Friday afternoon (local time). In addition, 48 people have been injured and are now being treated at a Christchurch hospital.

A new disturbing photo captures the moment a blood-soaked survivor of Friday morning's New Zealand mosque shooting walked away from the horrific scene.

Armed police have been deployed after reports of shots being fired at a mosque in Christchurch.

Three men and one woman are in custody.

Whether there are more suspects - Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said the government has no reason to believe there are more suspects, but was not assuming that was the case and intelligence services and police were working on establishing this. According to law enforcement officials, the man has been charged with murder and is scheduled to appear in a Christchurch court on Saturday.
