Mary Tyler Moore Show actress dies aged 70 — Georgia Engel

The beloved TV actress, who portrayed Georgette Franklin Baxter on the hit comedy show, passed away on Friday in Princeton, New Jersey. She was best known for her role on the 1970s sitcom "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", for which she was nominated for two Emmy awards.

More recently, Engel joined the cast of the CBS hit Everybody Loves Raymond as Robert's mother-in-law Pat, scoring three straight Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series from 2003 to 2005.

John Quilty, her friend and executor, told the publication that the cause of death was undetermined because Georgia, who was a Christian Scientist, did not consult doctors.
