  • Russell Crowe as Rodger Ailes in The Loudest Voice

The forthcoming miniseries is based on the book The Loudest Voice in the Room: How the Brilliant, Bombastic Roger Ailes Built Fox News - and Divided a Country by Gabriel Sherman.

The network unveiled the first footage of Crowe in action as the late Fox News co-founder accused of multiple instances of sexual harassment and misconduct, allegations that forced Ailes out of the conservative media company in 2016. (He's also shown sexually harassing host Gretchen Carlson, played in the series by Naomi Watts.) His physical transformation recalls Christian Bale's turn as Dick Cheney in Adam McKay's Vice.

Russell Crowe will make his starring debut on American television this summer, playing one of its former titans. "We're gonna give them a vision of the world the way they want it to be. we're way past politics, it's war".

Watch above, via Showtime. Sherman also helped write the very first episode with the screenwriter, Tom McCarthy.

In today's politically charged media landscape, no figure looms larger, even after his passing, than Roger Ailes, molding Fox News into a force that irrevocably changed the conversation about the highest levels of government.
