  • Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announces Bitcoin SV delisting

Bitcoin SV has recently been rocked by a series of high-profile delistings from major cryptocurrency exchanges. In turn, bitcoin SV is a hard fork version of bitcoin cash, and is led by self-proclaimed creator of bitcoin, Craig Wright.

For those who need a refresher on the topic, Bitcoin SV (BSV) is a Bitcoin Cash hard fork primarily associated with the ever-controversial Craig Wright and Calvin Ayer.

As such, an online campaign against Bitcoin SV, dubbed #delistBSV, has been gathering steam during the last week. ShapeShift CEO Erik Voorhees also announced it would be delisted, as did, while United States exchange Kraken conducted a poll drawing nearly 60,000 votes, with current results indicating over 70% in favor of dropping BSV. Earlier, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao had warned Craig Wright that if he continued to behave in an aggressive manner, Binance would delist BSV.

If you also believe in the scaling plans of Bitcoin SV, why not join the CoinGeek Toronto conference this May 29-30. "The threats made last week to individual members of the community were the last straw", the company wrote in the blog post with the delisting announcement.

"We stand with @binance and CZ's [Chenpeng Zhao's] sentiments. We've chose to delist Bitcoin SV #BSV from @ShapeShift_io within 48 hrs".

Furthermore, there is a very real possibility that more cryptocurrency exchanges will follow suit.

Another exchange to threaten a similar reaction is Kraken, with a Twitter poll set up to decide BSV's fate on the San Francisco-based exchange. Expressing his views on Twitter, Luke Martin, the famous crypto trader, and analyst tweeted that majority of the crypto exchanges follow Binance. After the BSV value reached $95 at the beginning of the month, at the time of writing, the coin is trading at $55.77, according to CoinMarketCap.

Interestingly, another user noted that SBI Virtual Currency, a licensed Japanese exchange had today delisted BCH, adding that some rumors suspect that it may be linked to BCH's relationship with BSV.
