The 78-year-old says the show has wrapped filming for its 35th season and has already started work on a 36th season.

His primary plan for the next few months is to concentrate on his health, and is scheduled to be back in the studio in July to tape shows for Season 36.

"I look forward to seeing you once again in September with all kinds of good stuff", Trebek said to close out the video update.

The five-year survival rate for that type of cancer is 9 percent, according to the American Cancer Society.
