Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias was arrested Monday night on suspicion of domestic violence, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to NBC Los Angeles. No details were released.

"We learned about the alleged incident this morning and are in the process of gathering information", a statement from the team said.

Major League Baseball will conduct an investigation into Monday's arrest and reserves the right to extend the leave at the end of the seven days under the current collective bargaining agreement. Players may be placed on paid administrative leave during an investigation, and if discipline is warranted the leave can be converted to a suspension without pay.

Manager Dave Roberts said before Tuesday night's against the San Diego Padres that the Dodgers will let the process run its course and that they hope to know more in the coming days.

Dodgers relief pitcher Julio Urias delivers in a game against the Washington Nationals at Dodger Stadium on May 10, 2019. The 22-year-old has made nine appearances - four of them starts - and has a 2-2 record with two saves and a 3.18 ERA.

However, you can expect the Dodgers and the Major League Baseball to drop the hammer if Urias is convicted of a domestic violence-related charge. He missed most of a year ago after undergoing left shoulder surgery in June 2017.
