Haynesworth made a decision to go public with his health problems with hopes that he might be able to find a kidney donor before it's too late. He sent a plea for help, reaching out to friends, family and fans for a potential donor.

Haynesworth went on to say that his kidney failed him on July 7, 2019.

In the social media post, it says that Haynesworth's kidney failed him on July 7.

"It's hard to believe from being a professional athlete to only 8 (seasons into) retirement that my body has taken another major blow", Haynesworth said in the post. "But the bright side of the latest ordeal is I can ask. someone to generously donate a kidney".

This isn't the first health problem Haynesworth has faced since leaving the NFL.
