President Trump is hosting a social media-focused summit at the White House on Thursday afternoon, which is expected to examine bias at some of the country's biggest technology companies.

On Thursday, advocacy groups such as the Muslim Advocates accused Trump of holding the summit to pressure social media companies into not enforcing their online rules. "If I put it out on social media, it's like an explosion".

US President Donald Trump presided over the White House's first social media summit on Thursday. To be fair any media that Trump has dismissed as "fake news" (most of it) did have fairly good reason to feel provoked if you look at the Trump Twitter thread below, send immediately in advance of the summit.

Trump acknowledged criticism about the online behavior of some conservative users of social media. Our constitutional rights must be fiercely protected and today I'm directing my administration to explore regulatory and legislative solutions to protect free speech and the free speech rights of all Americans. "Enforcing basic standards of decency on social media isn't censoring conservative speech".

"It goes up, and then they take it down", he told the crowd.

Trump in a March tweet accused Facebook, Google and Twitter of being "on the side of the Radical Left Democrats". Kamala Harris of California, a Democratic presidential candidate, is actually an "American black", and Jim Hoft, the Gateway Pundit founder who has always been faulted for spreading conspiracy theories online.

He vowed to move forward to sign the power sharing agreement and for its implementation. Hundreds rallied in Omdurman, the twin city of Khartoum.

"After the 2016 election Google, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon (in advertising) decided the best way to prevent another Trump win was to silence conservative voices in America", according to a statement from the Gateway Pundit site.

CNN's complaints had already resulted in the White House disinviting Ben Garrison, a web cartoonist and Trump supporter.

Trump also invited lawmakers including Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., and Sen. Three tech officials said they had no knowledge of the meeting before Trump announced it.

"Internet companies are not biased against any political ideology, and conservative voices in particular have used social media to great effect", said Michael Beckerman, president of the Internet Association, which includes Twitter, Facebook and Google. We have seen no public response from any of the social media giants and they would be wise to do so with care.

Speaking to his supporters, Trump repeated his argument of political bias, claiming some activists were blocked or limited on social platforms. At the same time he seems to value social media as a counterbalance to the mainstream media, most of which he has been at war with for years.
