Young Man Who Wanted a Jaguar Pushes Brand New BMW Into River

13 August, 2019, 22:29 | Author: Wade Massey

A young man in India has pushed his brand-new BMW into a river in an apparent protest against his parents' refusal to buy him a Jaguar for his birthday. The man, identified only as Akash, told police he was mad because his parents knew he wanted the more expensive vehicle but got him the BMW anyway.

A BMW was retrieved from a river in the district of Yamunanagar, with a team of local police using ropes and a rubber boat to reach the partially submerged vehicle.

However, police said that the young man suffered from mental health issues and has been taking treatment for his "mentally disturbed" condition.

But he was unhappy with the auto, say local police, because it was too small for him and his mates.

According to Fox News, the boy's father said: "I wanted to give my son a birthday present".

"We could only afford to give him a BMW, while he kept on insisting that he be given a Jaguar".

The suspect's lawyer, Unni Fries, said in a brief phone interview on Monday that she could not comment on the case. Prime Minister Erma Solberg said that working against hate speech was a priority.

"We thought there may be somebody in the auto but when those engaged in the rescue operation reached the vehicle they found none inside", said one unidentified villager.

"We would do a preliminary investigation but this seems to be a personal matter".

"When the youth was plunging the high-end BMW auto into the river, he also made a video and put it on social media", a police official was quoted by the Indo-Asian News Service.

However, after giving it a second thought, and perhaps realizing what a jerk he was, the man dove in with others to help rescue the auto.

"We never imagined he would do anything like this".
